BOULDER, Colo.—January 31,2011— A lime green ant named Bah is making a mark on the dinner plates of children nationwide by bringing Pick Chow!, winner of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Apps for Healthy Kids Contest, to kids and parents across America. Bah is one of three colorful ant characters featured at the popular website ZisBoomBah.com, an online community that makes food fun for kids and supports parents with knowledge on healthy lifestyles.
ZisBoomBah is bringing Pick Chow! to life at the Florida Delray Beach Garlic Fest which hosts over 40,000 kids and parents. ZisBoomBah will wow audiences on Saturday February 12, 2011 at 1:30 pm for a one-hour live, Iron Chef-style cook-off between Top Chef Miami’s, Howie “Bulldog” Kleinberg (Bulldog Barbeque), and three-time Garlic Fest champion, Andy Trousdale (Le Bistro). Each chef will create a healthy meal using ingredients that has to please the taste buds of the toughest culinary judges in town—kids!
“ZisBoomBah’s goal is to arm kids with the knowledge and power to make healthy food choices—and to make the learning fun and engaging,” said Mike Carcaise, ZisBoomBah COO and co-founder. “Kids love the event—imagine hundreds of kids glued to their seats watching chefs create tasty meals, learning about good foods, winning prizes and leaving with an autographed photo with the chefs! ”
Pick Chow!, ZisBoomBah’s award winning online tool, encourages kids to create healthy meals by dragging and dropping foods onto a virtual plate. The “Add it Up!” meters show the nutritional values in a fun and easy way and rates each meal with one to five stars—a feature that helps children learn quickly how their choices make a difference in creating a well-balanced meal. The application can generate an email to parents who receive a recipe, shopping list and coupons to make the meal a reality.
Award-winning ZisBoomBah is a healthy lifestyle company focused on promoting nutrition education and healthy living for kids and their parents through an innovative online community featuring interactive tools, games and valuable content. Recently endorsed by Michelle Obama as the grand-prize winner in the APPs for Health Kids contest, ZisBoomBah’s “Pick Chow!” web tool makes food fun for kids. The Company is partnering with national food and lifestyle brands on tours and experiential events to entertain and educate children and families across the United States and Canada.

About Chef Howie “Bulldog” Kleinberg – Bulldog BBQ
Long before his star-turn appearance on the Miami season of Top Chef in 2007, where his bold attitude earned him the nickname “Bulldog,” Chef Kleinberg was at the helm of some of South Florida’s most popular dining establishments, including Ivy Restaurant & Lounge and The Food Gang. Kleinberg’s passion for cooking started as a kid during summers spent in North Carolina creating and eating great barbecue and comfort food. In mid-2007, after becoming a finalist on the show, Kleinberg tapped into his childhood passion and decided to tenaciously pursue his own culinary dream, Bulldog BBQ, where Kleinberg enhances his down-to-earth barbecue with a few haute cooking techniques and ingredients, as well as a bit of his Top Chef flair that inspired his Bulldog nickname. At his popular restaurants, Kleinberg fuses his classical training and vast experience in high-end kitchens with his love for down home comfort food, resulting in delicious, quality fare, offered at extremely affordable prices, something that is key in this economic climate and welcomed by all walks of life. Bon Appétit Magazine recently named Bulldog Barbecue one of the “Top Ten Barbecue Restaurants in the Nation”. In March 2011, Chef Kleinberg will attack another restaurant concept, Bulldog Burger, using his same “take no prisoners” approach. For more information, visit www.bulldog-bbq.com
