ZisBoomBah.com, Award Winning Game Developer, Launches Healthy Food Adventure For Kids
ZisBoomBah.com is gamifying healthy behavior with quests, goal setting and food games
Boulder, Colorado – May 14, 2012 – ZisBoomBah.com, the leader in making food fun for families, is making healthy eating your kids’ idea. The online adventure, featuring quests, weaves real life activities into the fun elements of gaming to make healthy choices a part of a kids’ daily routine. The quests were designed by ZisBoomBah’s team of nutritionists, fitness experts, teachers and game writers with the purpose to stimulate kids to make better choices.
The adventures are making kids the heroes who are responsible for saving the queen ant and her colony with the help of Zis, Boom and Bah, the mascot trio featured on the site. Kids join the adventure by personalizing their own antvatar and participating in a series of beginner quests. By completing quests kids earn points and learn basic skills such as creating a balanced meal using Pick Chow!, the award-winning app from the Let’s Move Apps for Healthy Kids Campaign.
In addition, parents and groups can set goals for kids on their Challenger Calendar and keep them engaged by offering rewards such as having a family movie night or having a day at the park. Parents also have tools on the website to help them support their kids and provide them relief in the battles to feed them healthy. “We are really excited to create games that make kids the center of the food equation and offer tools to parents that take the pain out of getting kids to eat healthier,” says Karen Laszlo, Founder of ZisBoomBah.
ZisBoomBah also offers groups a way of integrating their initiatives into quests, recipes and printables that are featured on the site. They are currently piloting programs with organizations such as The Girl Scouts of Colorado, The Kids Cook Monday Campaign and kids cooking schools. “Through our partnership with ZisBoomBah we see the ability to implement our program by utilizing their website to train girls and volunteers to use games to set healthy eating and physical activity goals,” says Amanda Aunko, Program Services Manager, Girl Scouts of Colorado.
