Cheryl Ann Bourne, from My Bariatric Life, discussed the issue of childhood obesity and how it is being combated by gaming for children. By addressing that games could improve a child’s eating habits and ultimately their health, Cheryl showcased First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Campaign and the USDA’s Apps for Healthy Kids Challenge. ZisBoomBah’s Pick Chow! won the challenge and is a free online game for children to create virtual meals by dragging and dropping different food items onto their plate. The game has won awards from the White House, USDA, PTPA and continues to be touted by Common Sense Media as one of their top game picks for children! Pick Chow! is available online – get your children involved and share your experiences with us!
