My child is 9 years of age and she does not like to eat or drink milk at all, she denies a variety of foods but I am not sure if she is depressed because she likes to cry even for no reason. I am worried she is so skinny that you see bones, can you help. The only food that she likes eating are bread, eggs and beans.
For starters, see if there are ways you can use the eggs, beans and bread creatively. For example, would she be open to making a quiche with the eggs (where you can add corn tortillas as a crust, some spinach and tomatoes or ham and cheese as part of the ingredients, etc)? Would she be open to making an open-faced sandwich with the bread? Or French Toast? Or even bread pudding with raisins and chopped nuts? Could she puree the beans into a dip and use it as a dip for veggies, crackers, or a spread on a sandwich or rolled into a tortilla? See if the two of you can sit down and think creatively about different ways you can incorporate her favorite foods. Really encourage her creativity (even if you find some of her ideas a bit distasteful!) Let her help you in the kitchen to make some of her creations…the more she gets involved, the greater the chance she’ll eat it! I hope that helps!
