Yes my lil girl just turned 5 last month and is only 29lbs. she is allergic to eggs, wheat, oats and gluten so it is very hard to find things that i can feed her to began with let alone ones that will help her gain some weight. please help me find healthy things that will help her gain the weight that i feel like she needs….thank you
Here is a good nutritional pre-made shake you could try: http://katefarms.com. Other ideas: rice cakes with peanut butter and sliced banana or raisins; gluten-free pasta with tomato sauce and freshly grated cheese; applesauce with cinnamon; sliced veggies with hummus (most brands are gluten-free—add extra olive oil to each serving you give her); vegan gluten-free cookies or muffins (being vegan they will not contain egg); homemade bean and cheese dip for corn tortilla chips; sliced cheese or peanut butter on gluten-free crackers; cottage cheese and fruit; fruit smoothies made with yogurt, fruit, even spinach leaves, and nutritional oil (such as flax oil); gluten-free pretzels; gluten-free cereal and milk; gluten-free chicken nuggets with ketchup or gluten-free BBQ sauce. Do you think any of these ideas might work? If you have a natural foods market nearby, they often have a greater selection of gluten-free/egg-free (look for vegan) meals and snacks. Take her shopping with you and have her help pick out which of the safe, allergen-free items she’s open to trying. I hope that at least gets you started!
