Karen has done many amazing things in her life so far, but don’t plan on seeing her slow down anytime soon. Always one to “keep one on track” she spearheaded ZisBoomBah from an idea she and a friend saw as a family frustration: “How do I get kids to eat a variety of nutritious foods and make it their idea?” With first hand experience of raising three kids and living in the healthiest area of the country, you betcha she would find a way. Thus ZisBoomBah!
First, Karen went out, found funding, used her contacts in the tech field to source a talented team and now introduces an online tool to help kids pick their own chow and learn about healthy choices. Karen has interviewed thousands of children and parents about healthy habits and self esteem learning first hand what the critical points are for families motivated to live healthy.
Now the facts. Karen has 24 years in finance, strategic planning and marketing with Fortune 500, mid-sized companies and Internet start-up ventures. She was VP Corporate Development at Square Two Financial where she built the company’s first payment engine, VP Business Development at PlanSoft (team raised over $46ml) where she spearheaded key strategic partners achieving 90% market coverage, Director Marketing / Business Mgt and turnaround team member at Advanstar Communication and worked as Sr Financial Analyst at Progressive Insurance where she got to really understand the value of data and systems.
